Refund Policy

Single Assessment credits — 30-day refund window for unused credits

We offer a full refund within 30 days of purchase for any single-assessment credit that has not yet been used.

An assessment credit is considered "used" the moment you submit a manuscript and receive an assessment in return. Because each assessment is delivered immediately and consumes one credit, used credits are not eligible for refund — the digital service has been fully delivered.

Examples (Single Assessment)

  • Eligible: You bought a credit but haven't submitted an assessment yet.
  • Eligible: You bought multiple credits — the unused ones can still be refunded.
  • Not eligible: You used a credit, received the assessment, and now want a refund.
  • Not eligible: You disagree with the assessment's verdict — assessments are subjective and final.

Monthly Pass subscriptions

The Monthly Pass is a recurring subscription. You can cancel at any time from your Account page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access until then.

  • Not eligible for refund: the current billing month once it has started, even if you have not used all 15 included assessments. Unused assessments do not roll over and are not refundable in cash or credit.
  • Eligible for refund: a renewal charge disputed within 7 days of the renewal date, provided no assessments have been submitted in that new billing month. Contact us and we will refund and cancel.
  • Eligible for refund: a duplicate or clearly accidental charge (e.g. double subscription on the same account).
  • Statutory rights: if you are a consumer in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with a statutory right of withdrawal, those rights apply in addition to the above. By starting to use assessments during your subscription period, you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose any statutory right of withdrawal for the portion already used.

How to request a refund

To request a refund, contact us at sarahulicny@gmail.com with your account email and the date of purchase. We will process eligible refunds through Stripe back to your original payment method.

Refunds are typically processed within 5–10 business days.

Technical issues

If an assessment failed to deliver due to a technical error on our end, your credit (or monthly allowance) is automatically restored — no refund needed. If you believe a credit or assessment was incorrectly consumed, contact sarahulicny@gmail.com and we will investigate.

Chargebacks

We log each purchase, subscription event, and assessment submission. If you initiate a chargeback for a credit or subscription month in which assessments were delivered, we will defend the dispute with our records.
